Five Times the Gisele Appreciation

by Modelinia

When you have the opportunity to work with a supermodel like Gisele Bündchen, how in the world do you pick just one picture? That was the exact thinking behind the multiple covers for Vogue Brazil's July 2011 issue. "How to select only one photo of her?" said Daniel Hawk, editorial director of Vogue. "There was no consensus, so we decided to publish four."

And we're pleased they did.

Jacques Dequeker and Patrick Demarchelier snapped Gisele in both very different environments, the Amazon and New York City, to broad range of covers while showing off a variety of themes: glamours, military, and summer swimwear. Inside the glossy, a full 32 pages of Gisele make up the magazine, because really, you can never have enough of the beauty.

But the best news yet? While four covers will grace the newsstands, a fifth cover will hit subscribers mail boxes!

Menswear Monday: Dior Homme Spring 2012

by fashion.grunge.style.

Time to keep the blog entries going…Two in one day. I hope that everyone is looking forward to seeing the new editorial we cooked up for you. In keeping with the monday tradition, its time for some menswear.

This spring season there have been so many designers that I have absolutely fallen in love for. Dior Homme is the next one that has caught my eye. Seems that for next spring the black hat is back, personally I don't think it's ever going away. I especially loving the angular jackets and tapered pants with the sheen finish. There are numerous trends in this show that can easily be translated to all the women out there this spring as well. I can't wait.

My roommate got this epic black hat in Paris last year and now it seems he is ahead of the "hat" trend these days… peep the collection below

behind the muses

by because im addicted

If you live for music and you live for fashion - you will live for this W mag article (in the July issue).

Max Vadukul captured 10 designers and the musicians who inspire them most. Jaaamaz or jaaaaaaamaze?

Meet the pairs of "Behind the Muses":
1. Kanye West & Kate and Laura Mulleavy
2. Donatella Versace & M.I.A.
3. Florence Welch & Frida Giannini
4. Diplo & Alexander Wang
5. Yoko Ono & Proenza Schouler
6. George Craig & Christopher Bailey
7. Janelle Monae & Karl Lagerfeld

"That mixing of art forms and genres [Kanye does], that's something I respond to." -Laura Mulleavy

"Her music and style seemed so fresh and innovative. She is a total artist." -Donatella Versace

"We're really attracted to independent spirits, people who don't follow trends. Yoko pretty much personifies that." -Lazaro Hernandez

"We liked each other from the first second on. Not just because of our style, but also the name: Janelle rhymes with Chanel, no?" -Karl Lagerfeld

On The Cusp…

by fashion.grunge.style.

As I sit my room on the cusp of yet another fashiongrunge editorial I'm pulling inspiration from all over the interweb. With all this crazy tumblr following and tweeting going on, it makes just being on the computer so draining. I have such a laundry list of blogs to check that it makes me crazy. However, there are those times where the music is just right and the creative juices start to flow. That time is right now.  Currently I am absorbing the the Washed Out album, bowing at its glowing greatness. I think Air France would be a suitable follow up record.

I can't give away exactly what the shoot entails, but let's say all these photos have something in common.

Givenchy Gives Us Roaring Supers

by Modelinia

Though Naomi Campbell didn't lend her strutting power to Givenchy's Fall 2011 runway, she'll pair her powing power with Natalia Vodianova for the brand's campaign!

The supermodel duo each posed separately as a departure from the normal Riccardo Tisci groupings. Each enjoyed their own sittings for the famed duo of photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, perching on printed cushions. But here's where the campaign gets interesting. Reportedly, each model roared for the campaign, calling to mind the beginning of the runway show in Paris, when a panther's cry started the show.

We can't wait to see this campaign…
